COSTUME INSPIRATION

In honor of the Park’s centennial, we are throwing a decades themed Halloween party! Celebrate the last century by dressing in your favorite decade.

1920s: Roaring Twenties Glam Channel the spirit of the Roaring Twenties with a glamorous flapper-inspired look. Think fringed details, sequins, and pearls. Opt for a classic Gatsby-inspired look with a pinstripe suit, a fedora, and a slicked-back hairstyle.

1930s: Art Deco Elegance The 1930s were marked by a more refined style compared to the previous decade. For a vintage look, channel a classic Hollywood star with long satin gowns and fur stoles. Alternatively, embrace a dapper aesthetic with a three-piece suit, complemented by a bowtie and a pocket watch.

1940s: Utilitarian Style The 1940s bring to mind the era of World War II and a style that’s both functional and stylish. Consider A-line skirts or high-waisted trousers paired with polka dot blouses. For a classic look, opt for a military-inspired outfit or a sharp suit with a fedora.

1950s: Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebels The 1950s are all about rock ‘n’ roll and classic Americana. Think poodle skirts and leather jackets. For a retro diner vibe, opt for a polka dot dress paired with saddle shoes. Channel your inner James Dean with a leather jacket, white T-shirt, and jeans.

1960s: Mod and Hippie The 1960s are incredibly diverse, spanning from the mod scene to the hippie movement. For a mod look, opt for mini skirts, go-go boots, and bold geometric prints. For a hippie vibe, go for tie-dye shirts, bell-bottom jeans, and flower crowns.

1970s: Disco Fever The 1970s were all about disco and boho chic. Embrace the disco era with sequined jumpsuits, wide lapels, and platform shoes. For a more laid-back look, consider flared jeans, psychedelic prints, and flowy blouses.

1980s: Totally Rad The 1980s are iconic for their bold and exaggerated fashion. Think neon colors, leg warmers, and shoulder pads. Rock an iconic aerobic instructor look with bright leotards and leg warmers, or go for a rock star ensemble with tight jeans, leather jackets, and big hair.

1990s: Grunge and Pop The 1990s are marked by a blend of grunge and pop culture. For a grunge look, layer flannel shirts over band tees, add ripped jeans, and finish with combat boots. Alternatively, channel the pop vibe with colorful windbreakers, crop tops, and platform sneakers.

2000s: Y2K Nostalgia The early 2000s are known for their unique fashion trends, including low-rise jeans, bedazzled tops, and frosted lip gloss. Embrace the Y2K vibe with denim skirts, trucker hats, and metallic accents.
