Houston Astronomical Society will have knowledgeable astronomers onsite to guide you through a viewing of the constellations, planets, and other celestial objects. You are welcome to bring your own telescope, binoculars or you can download the free Stellarium app onto your mobile device for a closer look of the cosmos.

Celebrate the season with Holiday Lights at Memorial Park, proudly presented by CenterPoint Energy Foundation. Holiday Lights will be on display at Clay Family Eastern Glades for the public to enjoy through early January 2025.
Featuring beautiful new lighting features, including a one-of-a-kind Holiday tree on Bowden Terrace lit against Hines Lake, the outdoor holiday wonderland will be a festive spectacle, with lights and lanterns along the Clay Family Eastern Glades’ entire half-mile Promenade. Guests are invited to walk the natural surface pedestrian path encircling nine acres of open space, native plantings and habitat. Take a stroll with friends and family through Clay Family Eastern Glades while enjoying festive holiday lights from December 6th through early January 2025.
Holiday Lights will be illuminated on December 6 during Memorial Park’s annual holiday celebration, Deck the Park, proudly presented by Chevron! All ages are invited to join in the holiday celebration, featuring a variety of enjoyable, family-friendly activities. Highlights include cookie decorating, a tree lighting ceremony, an outdoor screening of the holiday classic Home Alone, delightful holiday characters, and festive refreshments like apple cider and hot cocoa, and much more.

Tickets: Pre-sale tickets can be purchased for $5 for both children and adults until November 30. Children 2 years old and under are free.
After November 30, tickets will be available for $10 online, as space allows.
Your ticket grants access to all activities at the event, including a tree lighting ceremony, an outdoor movie and plenty of festive family-friendly fun. More details to come!
Parking: Clay Family Eastern Glades has parking on-site. Paid parking ($2 for 3 hours) is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Clay Family Eastern Glades lot, Fitness Center lot, and Golf Course lot. Free street parking is available along Memorial Loop Drive. Refer to the Memorial Park parking map for more parking options.
This exhibit showcases ten informative signs that explore the historical timeline of Memorial Park, highlighting its rich heritage and the significance of the ground on which you stand.
These signs will be on display until the end of the year at Clay Family Eastern Glades as we celebrate the centennial milestone of one of Houston’s most cherished parks.
