Memorial Park Conservancy, along with presenting sponsor H-E-B, invites the community to celebrate Black History Month during Live at Live Oak on March 9 from 4-7 PM. This FREE live concert will be the final event of a four-part music series dedicated to different cultural holidays, highlighting the rich diversity of our community.
Set under the twinkling lights of Live Oak Court at the Clay Family Eastern Glades, these free concerts bring music, dance, and joy together under the stars to celebrate unique cultural traditions.
The fourth event will celebrate Black History Month on March 9, featuring two live concert performances. Houston Groove Society will kick off the evening with a captivating hour-long jazz concert, transporting guests to a world of rhythm and harmony. Next, Zydeco Jay & Creole Pressure will take the stage for a second hour-long performance, infusing the old with the new, blending Creole heritage with contemporary grooves.
Guests will be treated to complimentary chicken wings and homemade chips from Fluffy’s Bistro, as well as Caribbean beef and veggie patties and bread pudding, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, peach tea and hot chocolate from Grizzaffi Coffee will be provided at no cost, while supplies last. More food options will also be available for purchase.
This concert will be the final event for Live at Live Oak, presented by H-E-B. It follows three unforgettable performances celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month in September, Diwali in October, and Lunar New Year in January.
