Ready to Lend a Hand?

By becoming a volunteer at Memorial Park Conservancy, you are joining an organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of Memorial Park. Our volunteers are an integral part of the restoration and maintenance of the Park. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, groups, schools, and corporations of all types.

Peruse our Volunteer Opportunities Calendar for a comprehensive list of individual volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Memorial Park Conservancy!

  • What to wear: Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. A hat for sun protection is recommended. Volunteers should also be prepared for heat, cold, rain, and wet or muddy conditions.

  • What to bring: A refillable water bottle, gardening gloves (if you have them), sunscreen, bug spray, and sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses).

Opportunities

  • Conservation Volunteers

Put your green thumb to good use in our diverse ecosystems! Work alongside our native plant horticulturists and conservation team to help maintain the park gardens, prairies, and grounds. Gain some insider tips on gardening in Houston’s natural climate. Tasks include (but not limited to) pruning, seed collecting, planting, trash pickup and invasive species removal. Tasks are determined by workload and seasonal demands. All tools and training are provided.

Sign up for a shift on our Calendar of Volunteer Opportunities.

  • Greenhouse Growers

Did you know Memorial Park grows most of our native plants on site? Greenhouse Growers will assist MPC’s Nursery Conservation team with projects in our native plant greenhouse and our tree nursery! Project activities can range from (but are not limited to) transplanting growing plants, invasive weed removal, starting plants from seed, cleaning seeds, soil recycling, and more. All tools and training are provided.

Sign up for a shift on our Calendar of Volunteer Opportunities.
