Memorial Park Conservancy

General Park Rules

  • Park hours are from 6 am– 11 pm, 365 days a Picnic Loop hours are from 11 am –3 pm on weekdays and from 6:30 am – 8:30 pm on weekends.
  • The sale and/or marketing goods services are not permitted. Commercial film and photography are allowed with an MPC permit.
  • Launching, landing, or operating an unmanned aerial vehicle within the boundaries of Memorial Park is prohibited. All aerial photography is prohibited.
  • Littering is prohibited: please use trash receptacles.
  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited off roadways and beyond parking areas. Improperly parked vehicles will be towed.
  • Memorial Park strictly adheres to the City Houston Smoking Ordinance and is smoke-free.
  • Fires may be built for the purpose of food preparation and must be contained in grill.
  • Alcoholic beverage consumption is allowed. Distribution or sale of beverages is prohibited.
  • Vending or commercial sales of any sort, including recreational offerings, are prohibited without permit.
  • For the comfort of other park users, generators are prohibited without a permit.
  • Gambling of any kind is prohibited.
  • Hunting or use of firearms is prohibited.
  • Leashed dogs are welcome in the Park but must remain on their leash at all times.
  • Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets.
  • Control noise levels – please be respectful of others. You need a City of Houston noise and sound permit if noise level will exceed 68 decibels at any time.
  • To ensure the health, the park ecology, and the safety of other park users, the following activities are prohibited: Water activities such as dunking booths or ‘slip and slides’, water balloons, petting zoos or non-domestic animals, moonwalks, candles, confetti, silly string, and other substances of that nature.
  • Please leave wildflowers for everyone’s enjoyment.
  • Be sensitive to the ecology of the park: please only use designated trails.
  • Natural surface trails are closed during and immediately after a rain event. Please obey all signs.
  • Please respect our local wildlife – please do not pick up or scare; please do not release domestic animals into the Park.
