Role: Development Associate

The role of the Development Associate is to support delivery of the development, events and marketing programs.  This role reports to the Development and Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Marketing and Media Management
    • Support production of newsletters, social media postings, e-communication, event marketing and other materials including postings, basic photo editing, drafting communications and basic graphic design
    • Meet target marketing metrics; track and report on metrics
  • Fundraising Assistance
    • Support fundraising campaigns
    • Support grant writing/proposal solicitations
  • Event Support  - Gala, Brunch Run, Golf Tournament, Young Professionals, Other
    • Update event databases
    • Assist with mail merges, mass mailings and communications
    • Create event materials
    • Liaise with event sites/subcontractors/committees
    • Assist with securing revenue for event
    • Work event
  • Donor Database Management
    • Enter donations, assist with monthly reconciliation
    • Produce acknowledgement letters in a timely fashion
    • Update current databases as needed
  • General Assistance
    • Draft letters, set up meetings, volunteer support
    •  Periodic errands/driving to pick-up/drop off materials
  • Experience Requirements
    • Two or more years in fundraising, events or marketing
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills
    • Proven effective marketing experience with a focus on social media
    • Graphic design skills a plus (familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or comparable software)
    • Attention to detail, design, spelling, grammar, guidelines, etiquette
    • Professional demeanor and dress when interfacing with clients/peers
    • Occasionally may be required to work weekend or evening
    • Timely follow-up to customer/management needs
    •  ‘All hands on deck’ approach
    • Other duties as assigned
